Before I forget

We are over 6 months into our little boy's life and I have yet to record any of our adventures in words here. Plenty of pictures and videos, and 10 weeks worth of hand written letters to my love while he was away at USMC OCS. But the time has come and the place is here. Because I am already starting to forget these sweet moments as the new ones come to take their place.

At 6 months, 1 week, 6 days, Jax just had his first brown rice cereal experience this morning. He was a fan. He has already licked several veggies before today, but this was the first thing other than mama milk and meds (two ear infections after a cold) that he actually ingested.

Small stuff that is really big stuff. That is what our days are filled with now. Hitting the 6 month mark really set the stage for a lot of new things at once. Really reaching for things (which immediately get put in his mouth); rolling over from back to belly with much determination and purpose; more babbling and starting to notice when mama is gone; napping in his big boy crib; successfully getting his toes all the way in his mouth for the ultimate sucking experience; sitting up in his high chair with great head control to look all around at sights and sounds.

Right now he is in his bumbo practicing his sitting skills.
Over the next week I'm going to play catch up and try to write about the last 6 months. I think my heart needs to walk through it and remember how GOOD and FAITHFUL our God is.
